Astrology and Past Lives - Our Connections to Others

We've now reached the halfway point in looking at the twelve signs of the zodiac as they relate to reading other lifetimes in the astrology chart.

Your past lives ‘set the stage’ for your life. They determine what you come in to accomplish in this particular lifetime.  Certain general facts about reincarnation itself can give you additional information when reading your chart.

The key is to follow your own intuition. If something feels right to you, go with it.  If not, ignore it and go with what does feel right.  You know yourself better than anyone else, and you're the one who actually lived those other lifetimes.

That said,
  • You may be born on the day of an important past event from another lifetime – one that defined that life period for you.  For example, someone who went down with the Titanic in one life may be born on April 15th, the day that it sank, in their next lifetime.
  • If you left things unfinished, or if you have a strong desire to be with another person from a prior lifetime, you may choose to come back very quickly. (It’s possible to do that, even if there are only a few years between lives.) The planets in that person's chart will be next to many of the past life indicators in your own chart, showing your strong connection to each other. If this was a love relationship, as it is likely to be, those planets may include Venus, Ceres, Jupiter, or the Moon.  If one person passes away before the other, that person will continue to stay close to the beloved person until it is time for the other to pass.  The one who passes away first may leave on the other's birthday, on an anniversary, or on a date that was significant to both of them to show love for the other person.
  • You may be pulled back to the places you lived before during this lifetime.  We may avoid those places, or even refuse to have anything to do with the physical objects belonging to a certain time period, if we had traumatic experiences there – but may still be drawn there at some point in our lives in order to heal.
  • Groups of people who have a strong connection to each other will come back together to work on issues.  This includes family groups. If one of the group (whatever that group may be) passes away before the others do, that person will continue to stay close to the others until it is time for them to leave as well.  Then they will reincarnate together for another lifetime.
  • We tend to keep the same gender each lifetime, with some exceptions.
  • People close to you who have planets conjunct any of the past life indicators in your chart have likely been with you through not just one, but many lifetimes.
  • If we have unfinished business with an enemy from another lifetime, we may draw that person into our lives in order to resolve the issues of that life. These people may have heavier planets such as Mars, Saturn, or Pluto next to our past life indicators, but it's always necessary to look at the chart as a whole to determine this.
